NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Macalester College women's track & field team turned in several strong performances at the Tostrud Classic, held at St. Olaf College Friday night. No team scores were kept.
Junior
Tessa Myatt (Chicago, Ill./Northside College Prep) landed a new DIII #69 all-time record with her 12.48m shot put throw, for third place at the meet. She'd lead the Scots in the field, leaping into fourth in the high jump with a personal record of 1.52m. Junior
Jessica Lin's (Bedford, Mass./Bedford) 13.64m weight throw would place fourth at the event.
More accolades for the Scots came from the track, where sophomore All-American
Ariella Rogahn-Press (Albuquerque, N.M./Bosque School) won the 200m with a time of 25.33. Another running win came from sophomore
Kate Fox (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt), who dominated the 800m with a personal best of 2:19.71. Senior
Hadley Wilkins (St. Louis, Mo./Whitfield School) earned second in the 600m with a personal best of 1:43.07.
First year
Eva Abreu (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) landed second in the 60m hurdles qualifying, and though she'd improve her time in the finals to 9.31, she'd slip down to third.
Next up for Macalester is the MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held at Carleton College Feb. 26-28 in Northfield, Minn.
