ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Macalester College women's track & field team tallied 33 points on the final day of the MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held at Macalester Stadium Friday afternoon. The Scots finished sixth in the team standings with 57 points, the team's highest finish since the 2017 team placed fourth.
First year
Ariella Rogahn-Press (Albuquerque, N.M./Bosque School) accounted for 16 team points in the individual events and 10 points in the relays. In the 400 meters, she ran a school-record time of 53.89 and was barely held off by Gustavus' Megan Geraets at the finish line. Geraets' time of 53.87 is the fastest time in Division III, with Rogahn-Press right behind in second. Then in the 200 meters, Rogahn-Press again finished second to Geraets with a time of 24.62.
In the relays, Rogahn-Press, first year
Claire Beckley (Carlisle, Mass./Concord Carlisle), sophomore
Seneca Wilson (Durango, Colo./Durango) and first year
Emma Cunningham (Knoxville, Tenn./Farragut) took fifth in the 4x100-meter relay in 48.90. The time ranks third on Macalester's all-time list. Rogahn-Press anchored the 4x400-meter relay team that included Beckley, junior
Hadley Wilkins (St. Louis, Mo./Whitfield School) and sophomore
Tessa Myatt (Chicago, Ill./Northside College Prep) to a fourth-place finish in 3:59.23, the eighth-fastest time in program history.
Also on the track, sophomore
Ivy Coldren (Frederick, Md./Urbana) placed fifth in the 5000 meters with a time of 18:26.96 to receive All-MIAC honorable mention.
In the field events, sophomore
Jessica Lin (Bedford, Mass./Bedford) also earned All-MIAC honorable mention status with a fifth-place finish in the hammer throw with a toss of 47.00 meters (154-2).
The Scots will send a select group to the Augustana Midwest Twilight Qualifier May 14-15 in Rock Island, Ill.
