ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Senior Arlo Heitler (Hastings, N.Y./Hastings) competed in the 400m today at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Golisano Training Center at Nazareth University. Heitler placed 12th in the race in 48.82, which earned him second team All-American honors.
Heitler entered the day ranked 13th in the nation, so he managed to climb a spot in the race. This meet marks his first appearance at the indoor nationals. It also marks a repeat as a second team All-American, after he achieved the honor in the previous outdoor season with a 16th-place finish in the national meet.
This race caps a stellar indoor season for Heitler, who earned All-MIAC honors in the 400m with a third- place finish (49.00) and All-MIAC honorable mention in the 200m with a fourth-place finish in a school record 22.32. Heitler earned All-North Region honors for his performance on the season.
The men's track & field team will return to action for the outdoor season at the Wartburg Outdoor Select in Waverley, Iowa on April 5.
