ST. PAUL, Minn. - Macalester College junior
Arlo Heitler (Hastings, N.Y./Hastings) broke a pair of school records while posting two top-6 finishes, as the men's track & field team wrapped up competition at the MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships Saturday at Hamline University. The Scots scored 35 team points to finish in eighth place in the team standings.
Heitler, who broke the 200-meter dash school record in yesterday's prelims, ran a blazing 47.30 in the 400-meter dash to finish second and earn All-MIAC honors. The performance topped his own school record of 47.91 set at last year's MIAC Championships. The time also ranks 18th in Division III one week before the NCAA Championships field is selected. Later in the afternoon, Heitler placed sixth in the 200 in 21.61 to beat yesterday's time of 21.68 for his second school record of the day.
Other Scots who scored on the track included senior
Drew Getty (Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain), who finished fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.33. He also anchored the 4x400-meter relay team of sophomore
Henry Schonebaum (Faribault, Minn./Faribault), junior
Kalid Ali (St. Paul, Minn./Como Park) and first year
Daniel Wiltse (Missoula, Mont./Hellgate) to an eighth-place finish in 3:25.24.
In the field events, junior
