WAVERLY, Iowa – Several Scots of the Macalester men's track & field team headed to Waverly, Iowa to compete in the Good Friday Challenge and kick off the outdoor season, hosted by Wartburg College.
Junior
Reece McKee (Charlotte, Va./Charlottesville) competed in the 3000m Steeplechase. He took third with a time of 9:33.32. McKee's time currently ranks 13
th in Division III. In the 5000m, fellow junior
Nick Ihrke (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) took 10
th with a time of 15:34.82 and senior
Alexander Fendig (Chevy Chase, Md./Sandy Spring Friends School) took 13
th with a personal record time of 15:44.80. Sophomore
Tyler Edwards (Beaverton, Ore./Oregon Episcopal) took second in the 10,000 meters. His time of 31:15.93 ranks third all-time at Macalester and 15
th in Division III.
The rest of the Scots head to Waverly, Iowa next Friday, April 5 to compete at the Outdoor Select, hosted by Wartburg College.
