ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College men's swimming & diving team won 12 individual events in a victory over Hamline in a dual meet held at St. Catherine University Saturday afternoon. The Scots scored 168 points to 42 for Hamline.
Macalester won both relays, with the foursome of senior
Ramier Villarama (Bayonne, N.J./High Tech), junior
TJ Palli (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove), sophomore
Thomas Moore (Philadelphia, Pa./Science Leadership Academy) and senior
Ryan McNeff (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) opening the meet with a victory in the 400-yard medley relay in 3:54.35. The Scots closed the meet with first years
Max Taufen (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township),
Jack Schumacher (Golden, Colo./Lakewood),
Bode Thompson (Blacksburg, Va./Blacksburg) and
Gunnar Ray winning the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:34.68.
In the individual events, first year
Kean James Pajarillaga (Saipan, Marianas Pacific/Grace Christian Academy) placed first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.14) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:02.73). Senior
Charles Batsaikhan (Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia/East Chapel Hill) also won a pair of events, taking first in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:16.89) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:05.41). Will St. John (McGaheysville, Va./East Rockingham) in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.19), junior

Isaac Kisker (Dayton, Ohio/Oakwood) in the 100-yard freestyle (51.40), and sophomore
William Haby (Denver, Colo./George Washington) in the 200-yard backstroke (2:13.42).
In the diving events, junior
Dylan Herlihy (Reading, Mass./Phillips Academy Andover) took second on both the 1- and 3-meter boards.
Next weekend Macalester will send a portion of its team to Chicago, Ill., for the University of Chicago Phoenix Fall Classic Nov. 22-24. The other portion of the squad will compete at the Grace Goblirsch Invitational, held at Gustavus on Saturday, Nov. 23.
