ST. PAUL, Minn. – Four members of the Macalester College men's swimming & diving team were included on the Academic All-District Team by the College Sports Communicators, the organization announced today. Seniors TJ Palli (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) and Will St. John (McGaheysville, Va./East Rockingham) are three-time honorees, while sophomores Boden Allen (Los Angeles, Calif./Redondo Union) and Jack Schumacher (Golden, Colo./Lakewood) are making their first appearances on the Academic All-District team.

Palli swam on three Macalester relay teams that earned All-MIAC status with top-three finishes at the MIAC Championships this winter. The Scots' 200- and 400-yard freestyle relay teams broke school records while taking second with Palli's help. An environmental studies and educational studies double-major, Palli has made the MIAC All-Academic team the past two years.

St. John was on the Scots' 200- and 400-yard medley relay teams that earned All-MIAC status this year. He also took sixth in the 200-yard breaststroke to receive All-MIAC honorable mention. Also a member of the MIAC All-Academic team the past two years, St. John is majoring in physics and computer science at Macalester.

Allen qualified for the B final at the MIAC Championships in both the 200-yard butterfly and the 200-yard freestyle, finishing 11th in both events. He is majoring in creative writing and mathematics at Macalester.

Schumacher was on the 200 medley relay team that took second in the MIAC, swimming the butterfly leg. He also was 12th in the 100 butterfly and 13th in the 200 butterfly. Schumacher is an economics and mathematics major.

Student-athletes must be at a sophomore, junior or senior, have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.50 and have either competed in five of their team's competitions or finished in the top eight at the conference championships to be considered for Academic All-District and All-American accolades.
