ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College men's tennis team received All-Academic team honors, announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) today. Macalester is one of 125 Division III men's tennis programs that were recognized.
To qualify as an ITA All-Academic team, the program must register at least a 3.2 GPA for the 2022-23 academic school year.
Seven members of the 2023 Macalester men's tennis team earned ITA Scholar Athlete distinction, which requires achieving at least a 3.5 GPA for the 2022-23 academic year. They are Class of 2023 graduates
Anton Korolev (Moscow, Russia/Weil) and
Sawyer Michaelson (Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest), rising senior
Lewis Jolly (Grinnell, Iowa/Grinnell), and rising juniors
Jordan Doi (Mililani, Hawaii/Mililani),
Owen Lindstrom (Hanover, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville),
Martin Stoner (South Bend, Ind./Adams), and
Lucas Wood (Urbana, Ill./University Lab School). There are 1,012 athletes recognized across Division III.
This season, Macalester finished third in the MIAC, making a run to the semifinals of the MIAC playoffs. The Scots finished the season with an 11-7 (7-2 MIAC) record.
