ST. PAUL, Minn. – Senior
Alec Sargent (Rochester, Minn./Rochester Century) won both of his matches in singles and doubles, as the Macalester College men's tennis team concluded its season with a 7-2 loss to St. Olaf College Saturday afternoon at Hayden Tennis Courts. The Scots end their season with an 8-9 record overall, including a 3-6 mark in conference play. The Oles improve to 6-7, 5-4 MIAC.

Liam Lynch (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) at No. 1 doubles to defeat Bogdan Vizoli and Lou Smith, 8-4 for Macalester's first point. In singles, senior
Lucas Wood (Urbana, Ill./University Lab School) dropped a hard-fought match at No. 2 singles to Majan Veldic, 6-3, 7-5. Sophomore
Kangyu Li (Shanghai, China/Shanghai Southwest Weiyu) also fell in a tight battle at No. 4 singles against Madden Vanderwerf, 7-6 (7-0), 6-3. Sargent went to a 10-point tie-breaker at No. 1 singles with Vizoli and came away with a 1-6. 6-0, 10-8 triumph in his final match as a Scot.
Other seniors besides Sargent, Lynch and Wood who concluded their college careers were
Owen Lindstrom (Hanover, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville) and
Maxwell Davis (Warwick, Pa./Stone Independent School).
