ST. PAUL, Minn. – Macalester College sophomores
Ben Crotteau (Lincoln, Neb./Lincoln Southeast),
Reece McKee (Charlottesville, VA./Charlottesville),
Riley Hodin (Buffalo, N.Y./Amherst Central), and
Arlo Heitler (Hastings, N.Y./Hastings) were named to the Academic All-District team, announced the College Sports Communicators (CSC) today. All four Scots are candidates for Academic All-American honors.
Crotteau, a double major in Mathematics and Physics, finished fourth in the 5000m at the MIAC Outdoor Championships to receive All-MIAC honorable mention and helped the 4x800m relay team take fourth. At the MIAC Indoor Championships, Crotteau led the distance medley relay team to a second-place finish for All-MIAC honors. In the Cross Country season, Crotteau was Macalester's No. 3 runner at the MIAC Championships, finishing 40
th. He placed 73
rd at the North Region meet and earned Academic All-MIAC honors this fall.
McKee received All-MIAC honorable mention recognition, finishing fourth in the 3000m Steeplechase at the MIAC Outdoor Championships. He also placed seventh in the 1500m. At the MIAC Indoor Championships, McKee took 11
th in the 3000m. Over the 2023, he has registered five personal best marks. During the Cross Country season, he was the Scots' No. 2 runner at the MIAC Championships, finishing 27
th. His finish helped the Scots take fourth, which is the program's best finish since 2006. He placed 90
th at the North Region meet and earned Academic All-MIAC honors in the fall. McKee is a Geography major.
Hodin receive All-MIAC honorable mention at the MIAC Outdoor Championships, after finishing fifth in the triple jump. He also reached the finals of the long jump at the conference outdoor meet, finishing ninth. He recorded a personal best leap of 13.56m (44' 6") and took third in the triple jump at the Wartburg Outdoor Select April 1-2. He finished 10
th in the triple jump at the MIAC Indoor Championships. Hodin is a Geography major.
Heitler broke the school record in the 400m (47.91) which ranks 31
st nationally in the outdoor season. He took third in both the 200m and 400m at the MIAC Outdoor Championships for All-MIAC status in both events. Heitler also broke the school record for the 200m indoors (22.31). He finished fourth in the 400m, earning All-MIAC honorable mention and seventh in the 200m at the MIAC Indoor Championships.
