ST. PAUL, Minn. – Eleven Scots of the Macalester College men's track and field team were recognized with season-end awards, announced the conference today. The top three finishers in each event received All-MIAC honors, while 4
th-6
th place received All-MIAC honorable mention.
Four Scots were All-MIAC. Sophomore
Tor Olsson (Northampton, Mass./Northampton) was a MIAC Champion in the 1500m, setting a personal record of 3:54.00, which is the second-fastest time in Macalester history. Olsson is the first outdoor track & field MIAC Champion for the program since 2016. Fellow sophomore
Arlo Heitler (Hastings, N.Y./Hastings) finished third in both the 200m dash (21.94) and the 400m dash (47.91). His time in the 400m dash is a personal best and broke the previous school record of 47.96 set in 1995. Junior
Caleb Williams (Wild Rose, Wis./Wild Rose) took third in the triple jump with a mark of 13.64m (44' 9.00"). Sophomore
Max Menache (Beverly Hills, Calif./Beverly Hills) set a personal record of 49.59m (162' 8") in the hammer throw, to take third.
Eight Scots were recognized as All-MIAC honorable mention. Williams finished sixth in the long jump with a leap of 6.63m (21' 9.00"). Sophomore
Ben Crotteau (Lincoln, Neb./Lincoln Southeast) set a personal record in the 5000m (14:52.47) to take fifth. Fellow sophomore
Jeff Wang (Harleysville, Pa./North Penn) took fifth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.52. In the 3000m Steeplechase, sophomore
Reece McKee (Charlottesville, VA./Charlottesville) finished fourth with a personal best time of 9:23.67. Crotteau and Olsson teamed up with sophomore
Kalid Ali (St. Paul, Minn./Como Park) and first year
Jay Lebakken (Minneapolis, Minn./Edina) in the 4x800m relay, to place fourth with a time of 7:55.45. In the field, sophomore
Riley Hodin (Buffalo, N.Y./Amherst Central) took fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 13.33m (43' 8.75"). Senior
Victor Wright (Cape Coral, Fla./Mariner) took fourth in the discus throw with a mark of 41.87m (137' 4").
Kevin Arthur of Saint John's was named Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year and Lucas Kramarczuk of St. Olaf was named Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year.
