ST. PAUL, Minn. - Macalester College senior Journey Amundson (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) was named All-North Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the organization announced today. Athletes must be ranked in the top five regionally in an individual event, or top three in a relay to receive All-Region honors.

Amundson, who also was All-Region following the 2021 outdoor track & field season, earned All-Region honors with a personal-best leap of 11.78 (38-7.75) in the triple jump on Feb. 18 at St. Olaf's Tostrud Classic. The mark is a new school record, ranks fifth in the North Region and qualifies Amundson for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend in Birmingham, Ala. At the MIAC Championships Feb. 25-26, Amundson earned All-MIAC accolades in the triple jump, the long jump and the distance medley relay.
