ST. PAUL, Minn – Senior
Journey Amundson (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) will represent the Macalester women's track and field team, in the triple jump, at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, announced by the NCAA Sunday night. Nationals be held March 10-11 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala. Amundson is one of 20 entrants selected to jump in the event.
On Feb. 15, Amundson registered a personal best leap of 11.78m (38' 7.75") at the St. Olaf Tostrud Classic. Her leap broke the school record, which was set in 2007 by Susan Brown (11.68m (38' 4")). Most recently, Amundson posted two All-MIAC performances, taking second in the triple and third in the long jump at the MIAC Indoor Championships on Feb 24-26.
Amundson has placed in the top five for the triple jump during this indoor campaign. Her triple jump mark of 11.78m (38' 7.75") sees her seeded 20
th. She will jump at 11 a.m. on Saturday March 11.
