BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Senior 
Journey Amundson (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) finished ninth at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships held in Birmingham, Ala.
 
Amundson, who was seeded 20
th at the beginning of the day, registered a leap of 11.75m (38' 6.75") to finished ninth. She registered the same mark as Harmony Creasy of Loras who finished eighth. To determine eighth and ninth, the judges looked at each athlete's second-best mark. Macalester protested that Amundson's second-best jump was incorrectly scored a foul. However, the protest was denied and Amundson took ninth, just one place shy of All-American honors.
Amundson earned All-Region honors this season, with a leap of 11.78m (38' 7.75") on Feb. 18 at the St. Olaf Tostrud Classic. She also earned All-MIAC honors in the triple jump, long jump, and the distance medley relay Feb. 25-26.
 
The outdoor season will begin on Saturday April 1, at the Hamline Invitational in St. Paul.
