ST. PAUL, Minn. – Junior
Sarah Beth Hobby (South Pittsburg, Tenn./St. Andrew's-Sewanee School) represented the Macalester women's track and field team today, in the pentathlon, on the first day of the MIAC Championships. She finished fifth overall, with a personal best 2815, scoring four points for Macalester. This is the third best pentathlon mark in Macalester history.
Hobby won the shot put with a mark of 11.15m (36' 7"). This is a personal best mark for Hobby. It is also the eighth best mark in Macalester history. She finished fifth in the long jump, with a mark of 4.85m (15' 11"). This is an indoor personal best for Hobby. She finished seventh in the 60m hurdles with a personal best time of 10.16. In the high jump, Hobby took eighth, with a jump of 1.43m (4' 8.25"). Sarah Beth also took eighth in the 800m run.
The rest of the Scots hit the track tomorrow for Day 2 of the MIAC Championships.
