St. Paul, Minn. – The Macalester College women's track and field team was received All-Academic Team recognition from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the organization announced today. In addition, Arlo Heitler (Hastings, N.Y./Hastings) was recognized as an All-Academic Individual.
 
The men's team ended the season with a cumulative team grade point average of 3.615. The USTFCCCA requires a 3.10 team cumulative GPA to be recognized as an All-Academic Team.

To qualify for individual USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and have either competed in an NCAA indoor or outdoor championship, or finished the regular season ranked in the national top 50 individually or top 35 in a relay.
 
Heitler earned all-region honors with a personal best time of 48.01 in the 400-meter dash at the UW-La Crosse Qualifier on May 19. This mark ranks second in the North Region and 24^th in Division III.
