ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College men's and women's track and field teams both received All-Academic Team accolades from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the organization announced. Additionally, Will Murphy (Longmont, Colo./Longmont) also earned USTFCCCA All-Academic individual honors.

The men's team turned in a cumulative team grade point average of 3.41, while the women's team posted a team GPA of 3.44. The USTFCCCA requires a 3.10 team cumulative GPA to be recognized as an All-Academic Team.

To qualify for individual USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and have either competed in an NCAA indoor or outdoor championship, or finished the regular season ranked in the national top 50 individually or top 35 in a relay.

Murphy had an outstanding first year this winter for the Scots, earning All-MIAC honors in the triple jump with a leap of 46-3.5 (14.11) to take third at the MIAC Indoor Championships. The mark ranks 47th on this year's Division III performance list and is second all-time at Macalester. He also placed sixth in the long jump at the MIAC meet.
