ST. PAUL, Minn.- The Macalester College swimming and diving team hosted Grinnell College and honored their four seniors
Marie Crane (Laouina, Tunisia/American Cooperative School of Tunis),
Francesca Gillis (River Forest, Ill./Trinity),
Ariel Roghair (Iowa City, Iowa/West), and
Ana Thompson (Minnetonka, Minn./Orono).

Grace Madigan (Middleton, Wis./Middleton), first year
Frances Redpath (Helena, Mont./Helena), and Roghair won the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 4:14.49. Roghair, first year
Zoe Machmer Frederick (Omaha, Neb./Lincoln East)Frederick, Thompson, and Madigan also took second in the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:53.35.
Sophomore
Betsy Foy (Omaha, Neb./Harry A. Burke) took second in the 1000 yard freestyle by touching the wall in 11:50.77. Madigan also placed first in the 200 yard freestyle and the 100 yard freestyle with times of 2:00.11 and 55.93. Frederick sprinted to a first place finish in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:05.50. Frederick also took second in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:24.35.
Junior
Zoe Schopick (Winchester, Va./James Wood) touched the wall in 2:24.56 in the 200 yard butterfly which was strong enough for a second place finish. Gillis swept the diving events for the second day in a row by scoring 217.90 on the one meter dive and a 235.40. First year
Katie Kelbrants (Minneapolis,Minn./Minneapolis South) placed second in the three meter dive with a score of 202.60. Redpath swam to a first place finish with a time of 1:01.12 in the 100 yard butterfly. Thompson and Redpath also took first and second place in the 200 yard IM with times of 2:19.03 and 2:19.85.

The women's swimming and diving team will be off until February 12 as they prepare for the MIAC conference championships. That four day event will take place in the University of Minnesota aquatic center.
