As a Scot
Member of the Dean’s List… Named Gilman Scholar and DeWitt Wallace Distinguished Scholar… Takes part in Little Scots… Studied abroad in Madagascar in the fall of 2018… Interned at the University of Maryland Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology… Is a research assistant at University of Minnesota.
2018-19
Named to the MIAC All-Academic team… Recorded eight top-10 finishes throughout the year… Logged a career-best 200 Free time at the MIAC Championships, finishing in 2:11.81… Had an impressive meet against Grinnell on Jan. 26 with a third-place finish in the 50 Free (27.48), a fifth-place finish in the 100 Free (1:01.99), and a sixth-place finish in the 200 Free (2:16.18)… Finished fifth in both the 50 Free (28.52) and 100 Backstroke (1:14.07) against St. Kate’s on Jan. 25.
2017-18
Recorded seven top-10 finishes throughout the season… Compiled a personal-best time in the 50 Free at the MIAC Championships in February, finishing in 26.43… Added another PR in the 100 Backstroke in a dual meet against Grinnell on Jan. 27 with a time of 1:11.62 which was good for a fourth-place finish… Finished third in the 50 Free against St. Kate’s on Jan. 26 with a time of 27.50.
2016-17
Competed in the 2017 MIA Championship and swam for a personal best in the 100 and 50 freestyle.

Winner of the Coach’s Award… Captain of swim team… National Merit Commended Scholar… Valedictorian.
Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
I chose Macalester for its emphasis on internationalism.
What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?
I have made some amazing friends, especially my teammates. I think I have a better understanding and perspective on the world and the problems that we face.
How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?
It has taught me how to manage my time and energy to make sure I'm balancing all of my commitments.
