Men's Tennis: Scots Continue To Roll, Beat Hamline

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.- The Macalester men's tennis team are now 4-0 in conference play as they defeated Hamline University 6-3.

At No. 3 singles, first year Karsten Knutsen (Minneapolis, Minn./Riverfield Country Day) won 7-6, 6-1. Sophomore Ben White (Parkersburg, W. Va./Parkersburg South) also won in the No. 4 spot, 6-2, 6-3. No. 5 senior Peter Willenborg (Storrs, Conn./E.O. Smith) won his match 6-0, 6-0. Senior Matt Yang (Bethesda, MD./Walt Whitman) beat his opponent 6-2,6-0 in the No. 6 spot.

In doubles, Willenborg and Yang combined to beat their opponents 8-2. First year Jeffrey Jorgensen (Menlo Park, Calif./Menlo-Atherton) and first year Alexander Poland (Madison, Wis./Madison West) also won 8-5. As a duo, Jorgensen and Poland are now 4-1 on the year.

Macalester returns to conference play Monday, Apr. 8, against Carleton College in Northfield, Minn.
