HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Macalester College men's tennis team beat Washington College 9-0 today in South Carolina. The Scots are now 5-3 on the season .

Macalester swept Washington College with matches with Macalester's No. 1 singles Josh Doyle (Cologne, Germany/Friedrich Wilhelm Gymnasium) defeating  Chris Salisbury  in three sets, 6-3, 6-3. No.2 Sam Hochberger (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) won in straight sets as did  No.3 Aidan Tirpack (Mill Valley, Calif./Tamalpais), No. 5 Matthew Yang (Bethesda, Md./ Walt Whitman) and No.6 Ben Wilson (Oakland, Calif./College Preparatory School). No. 4  Ben White (Parkersburg, W. Va/ Parkersburg South) defeated Kyle Hickey in three sets.

In doubles,  Josh Doyle (Cologne, Germany/Friedrich Wilhelm Gymnasium) and Sam Hochberger (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) won 8-4. Aidan Tirpack (Mill Valley, Calif./Tamalpais) and Ben White (Parkersburg, W. Va/ Parkersburg South) won 8-6. Matthew Yang (Bethesda, Md./ Walt Whitman) and Ben Wilson (Oakland, Calif./College Preparatory School) won 8-2.

Macalester returns to action on Friday, March. 16, against the University of Charleston.
