ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Macalester College men's tennis team fell to MIAC foe Bethel University, 6-3 Thursday afternoon . The result gives the Scots a 6-7 record on the season, including a 2-3 mark in the conference. The Royals improve to 15-4, 5-2 MIAC.
After losing all three doubles matches, Macalester earned wins at first, fifth and sixth singles. Junior
Josh Doyle (Cologne, Germany/Friedrich Wilhelm Gymnasium) won his match at first singles, with sophomore
Matthew Yang (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) and junior
Ben Wilson (Oakland, Calif./College Preparatory School) winning at fifth and sixth singles, respectively. The dual hinged on the matches at third and fourth singles, where Bethel earned a pair of three-set victories to clinch the team result.
Macalester returns home to face St. Thomas on Saturday, Apr. 22 at Hayden Tennis Courts.
