ST. PETER, Minn. – The Macalester College men's tennis team lost a MIAC dual at Gustavus Adolphus, 9-0 Saturday evening. The loss marked the first MIAC dual of the season for the Scots, who are now 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the conference. The Gusties, who are ranked 23rd nationally, improve to 11-2 overall and 3-0 in the MIAC.

Additionally, Macalester faced No. 17 UW-Whitewater, losing 6-3 in a non-league dual. Junior Josh Doyle (Cologne, Germany/Friedrich Wilhelm Gymnasium) and Aidan Tirpack (Mill Valley, Calif./Tamalpais), and sophomore Peter Willenborg (Storrs, Conn./E.O. Smith) won their matches at first, second and fifth singles, respectively.

Macalester begins its Spring Break trip on Mar. 12 with a dual against Gettysburg College.
