LAKEVILLE, Minn. – The Macalester College men's tennis team earned a 6-3 victory over Concordia College in a MIAC dual Saturday afternoon at Lifetime Fitness. The Scots improve to 6-5 overall and 2-1 in the conference, while the Cobbers fall to 2-7, 2-4 MIAC.

In doubles, Macalester won two of the three matches, including a victory by senior Hardt Bergmann (Mahtomedi, Minn./Mahtomedi) and junior Aidan Tirpack (Mill Valley, Calif./Tamalpais) at second doubles. Junior Ben Wilson (Oakland, Calif./College Preparatory School) and sophomore Peter Willenborg (Storrs, Conn./E.O. Smith) also won their match at third doubles.

Tirpack and Bergman helped the Scots win four singles matches with straight-set victories at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively. Wilson won his match in straight sets at No. 6 singles, while sophomore Matthew Yang (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) outlasted Matthew Engum in three sets at No. 5 singles.

Macalester faces MIAC foe Saint John's on Saturday, Apr. 1 in Collegeville, Minn.
