LAKELAND, Fla. – The Macalester College men's tennis team fell to Franklin & Marshall, 7-2 in a non-league dual Tuesday morning at Woodlake Park. The Scots are now 4-4 overall, while the Diplomats improve to 1-2.
Macalester's top doubles tandem of junior
Josh Doyle (Cologne, Germany/Friedrich Wilhelm Gymnasium) and sophomore
Matthew Yang (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) picked up the Scots' lone doubles point with an 8-4 victory. In singles, junior
Aidan Tirpack (Mill Valley, Calif./Tamalpais) won his match at No. 2 singles for Macalester's other point.
The Scots conclude their Spring Break trip to Florida with a dual against the University of Mobile on Thursday, Mar. 16.
