ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Macalester College men's tennis team hosted St. John's University in Saturday afternoon MIAC play at Hayden Courts. The Scots fell to the Johnnies, 7-2 in the dual. Macalester moves to 6-6 overall and 1-2 in MIAC play. St. John's improves to 8-5 and 4-2 in the conference.
Macalester No. 1 player
Josh Doyle picked up where he left off. After earning two wins in last night's play against Gustavus, Doyle continued to have success with a singles win over SJU's Jack Hansen today. After falling in the first set (2-6), Doyle came back to win set two 6-4 and the tiebreaker, 10-4. He partnered with
Brian Utz to defeat Jack Hansen and Tim Larson at No. 1 doubles. The duo won 8-5.
Macalester will return to action on Thursday, April 14 when they take on Bethel University. The match is slated for 5 p.m. at Hayden Courts.
