EAU CLAIRE, Minn. -- The Macalester College men's tennis team took on UW- Eau Claire in Friday night dual-play. The Scots fell to the Blugold's, 7-2 moving their overall record to 2-2 this season as Eau Claire improves to 7-1.

Macalester earned one win in singles play at the No. 1 spot. Josh Doyle (Cologne, Germany) defeated Kyle Hoffmann 6-4, 7-5. The Scots earned another win in doubles action. At No. 2 doubles, Aidan Tirpack (Mill Valley, Calif. / Tamalpais) and Wilson Merrell (Poughkeepsie, N.Y. / Arlington) defeated the duo of Will Weyenberg and Jordon Stevens, 8-5.

Macalester will return to action on Saturday, March 5 when they take on Luther College at Lifetime Fitness in White Bear Lake, Minn.
