ON TAPMacalester will play three Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matches in four days this as it prepares for the home stretch of the 2015 schedule.

Thursday, the Scots make the short trip north on Snelling Avenue, where they will face Hamline in a 4:30 p.m. match. Saturday, Macalester will be in St. Peter, Minn., to face 16th-ranked Gustavus Adolphus in a 3 p.m. match to be followed, Sunday, by a 2:30 p.m. home match with Concordia at the Hayden Courts.
LAST WEEKThe Scots have been idle since March 28-29, when they defeated Saint Mary's, 5-4, at the Baseline Tennis Center before travelling to Saint John's, where they dropped a 5-4 decision to the Johnnies.

Macalester found itself trailing, 2-1, after doubles play versus the Cardinals.
Josh Doyle and
Wilson Merrell were 8-5 winners at two doubles and Doyle won his two singles match, 6-2, 6-1. The Scots then pulled out the match by winning three of the final four singles matches with
Aidan Tirpack earning a 7-6 (7-2) 6-2 win at three singles while
Sam Naden was a 6-4, 6-3 winner at five singles and
Perry Campbell won at six singles, 6-3, 6-3.

The following day, Macalester was unable to overcome a 2-1 doubles deficit after Tirpack and
Brian Utz claimed a 9-8 (7-5) win at one doubles.

Doyle and Tirpack were once again winners at two and three singles, as was Campbell at six singles, but Merrell and Naden lost at four and five singles in super tiebreakers.

HE'S THE BOSSJason Muhl is in his 11th year as the head men's and women's tennis coach at Macalester College.
In 2008, Muhl was named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's tennis coach of the year after guiding the Scots to their best season in school history, and, in 2010, was picked as MIAC men's tennis coach of the year.
A former standout at St. Cloud State University, where he was team captain, Muhl previously coached at Burnsville High School, the Blake School and Eastview High School.
Muhl holds undergraduate degrees in recreation administration from St. Cloud State University, from where he graduated in 1997, elementary education from Bemidji State University, and a master's degree in educational leadership from Concordia University. He currently teaches elementary school in the New Prague School District.

Up NextMacalester is away from home for two matches next week as the Scots are slated to be at Bethel for a 4:30 p.m. match, Thursday, and an 11 a.m. match at Carleton, Saturday.
