Macalester hosted Hamline in an MIAC match at Hayden Courts and cruised to an 8-1 victory over the Pipers.  The Scots, who took everything but third doubles, improve to 6-5 on the season and even their MIAC mark at 2-2.  The Pipers sink to 5-10 overall, 1-3 in the MIAC.
 
Picking up singles wins to lead Macalester to its second straight MIAC triumph were Brian Utz (So., Rochester, Minn. / Lourdes) at No. 1; Alasdair McClintic (Fy., Geneva, Switzerland / Phillips Academy (Mass.)) at No. 2; Max Soghikian (Sr., Piedmont, Calif.) at No. 3; Wilson Merrill (So., Poughkipsie, N.Y. / Arlington) at No. 4; Carl Bergmann (Fy., Mahtomedi, Minn.) at No. 5 and Sam Naden (Jr., Middleton, Wis. ) with a three-setter at No. 6.
 
Utz and McClintic won 8-4 at first doubles, and Soghikian and Merrell won 8-5 at second doubles.
 
The Scots host St. Thomas tomorrow at 5 p.m.
