The Scots took on 25-time conference champ Gustavus and were defeated by the Gusties 9-0 in an MIAC semi-final round match in St. Peter. The Scots, who beat St. Thomas 5-4 in Friday's first-round match, finish their season with a 13-8 record.

Carleton beat Bethel in Saturday's other semi-final match and then knocked off Gustavus 7-2 to take the team title and earn an automatic berth in the upcoming NCAA Division III playoffs.

Mac's closest match came at No. 2 doubles, where Evan Elderbrock (So., Madison, Wis. / West) and Chris Fowler (So., Toronto, Ont. / Royal St. George's) lost 8-5. At No. 6 singles, Justin Margolies (Jr., Madison, Wis. / West) played well in a 6-3, 6-4 loss.
