Macalester vs. Concordia box score

The Scots traveled to Fargo, N.D. to close out the regular season against Concordia, and battled the Cobbers all the way through the lineup before coming up short 5-4. Macalester won at second, third and fourth singles, as well as at No. 1 doubles.

Macalester concludes the regular season with a 12-7 overall record and 4-5 conference mark, and heads into next weekend's six-team MIAC playoffs as the No. 6 seed. The Scots play a Friday (May 7) 3 p.m. quarter-final round match with No. 3seeded St. Thomas at Brown Courts at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter.

At first doubles, Michael Coleman (Jr., Westlake Village, Calif. / Agoura) and Paul Mairet (Jr., Rochester, Minn. / Century) gained an 8-5 decision to improve to 9-6 this season as a doubles tandem (5-3 in the MIAC).

Gaining singles wins for the Scots were Chris Fowler (So., Toronto, Ont. / Royal St. Georges) at No. 2, Evan Elderbrock (So., Madison, Wis. / West) at No. 3 and Max Edwards (Fy., Rochester, Minn. / Mayo) at No. 4.
