Macalester vs. Hamline box score
Macalester moved to 4-2 in the conference and moved closer to a berth in the MIAC post-season tournament when it toppled Hamline 6-3 Friday at Hayden Tennis Courts. The Scots are now 12-4 on the season and have clinched their best conference record since 2001.
The Scots claimed two of the three doubles matches to get the match off to a good start.
Paul Mairet (Jr., Rochester, Minn. / Century) and
Michael Coleman (Jr., Westlake Village, Calif. / Agoura) teamed up for an 8-5 win at first doubles, and at third doubles,
Max Edwards (Fy., Rochester, Minn. / Mayo) and
Justin Margolies (Jr., Madison, Wis. / West) won 8-3.
Chris Fowler (So., Toronto, Ont. / Royal St. Georges) won 6-7, 6-1, 13-11 at No. 2 singles;
Titus Levy (Sr., New York, N.Y. / Fieldston School) won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 3;
Evan Elderbrock (So., Madison, Wis. / West) won 7-5, 6-2 at No. 4; and Edwards won 6-7, 6-3, 10-4 at No. 5.
The Scots play another MIAC match tomorrow at St. Olaf.
