Macalester vs. St. Mary's box score

Playing for the first time since Feb. 6, Macalester opened its MIAC slate on a winning note, beating St. Mary's 8-1 Saturday in Winona. The Scots are now 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the conference on the young season.

The Scots began the match with hard-fought 8-6, 8-4 and 8-4 doubles wins and claimed wins in five of the six singles matches.

Macalester singles winners were Michael Coleman (Jr., Westlake Village, Calif. / Agoura) at No. 2, Titus Levy (Sr., New York, N.Y. / Fieldston School) at No. 3, Evan Elderbrock (So., Madison, Wis. / West) with a three-setter at No. 5, Max Edwards (Fy., Rochester, Minn. / Mayo) at No. 5, and Justin Margolies (Jr., Madison, Wis. / West) at No. 6.

In three matches this season, Mac is 15-3 in singles play.

The Scots play Saturday (March 6) at MIAC power Gustavus.
