Macalester vs. St. Thomas statistics
Down by three goals and with little time left on the clock, Macalester rallied with goals in the 76th minute, 88th minute and 90th minute to force overtime, and then completed the remarkable comeback with a score in the first minute of overtime to topple St. Thomas 4-3 at UST Friday afternoon.
The Scots move to 6-2 in the MIAC as they challenge for the conference title. Macalester is 12-3-1 overall. Macalester has two MIAC games remaining in the regular season, at St. John's and at home against Hamline. If the Scots win both, they will be conference champions. With a win and a tie, they can do no worse than tie for their 10th MIAC crown. At 6-2, they are being chased by Carleton (6-2-1) and Concordia (6-2-1).
St. Thomas led 2-0 at the halftime intermission and went up 3-0 at the 75:28 mark.
Twenty-five seconds after UST's third score, the Scots were fouled in the penalty area and
Stephen Murphy-Logue (Sr., Anchorage, Ak. / West) converted the penalty kick to put the Scots on the board. Murhpy-Logue, an All-MIAC midfielder, netted his seventh tally of the season at 87:03 to give Macalester a shot.

Taylor Rasmussen (So., Eagan, Minn. / Eastview), who is tied for the MIAC goal-scoring lead, put in his 10th goal of the season on a
Nate Juergens (Sr., St. Paul, Minn. / Como Park) assist to force OT.
Robin Forslund (Fy., Madison, Wis. / Memorial) netted the game-winner in OT in the first minute of overtime, registering his first collegiate goal.
Macalester earned a slight 12-10 margin in shots on goal and 6-5 corner kick advantage. The Scots are 3-1 this year in overtime games.
The Scots travel to Collegeville on Tuesday (Oct. 26) to take on St. John's.
