Why I chose Macalester:
My choice to attend Macalester was made very easy because from the moment I stepped foot on campus everything just felt right. The environment is so relaxed and inviting that it’s hard not to fall in love with the school. The chance to attend such an academically prestigious school, while still playing in a very competitive soccer division with the most successful team in MIAC history is an outstanding opportunity that I could not pass on.

What Macalester has meant to me:
I’m excited to be at Mac for my second year with a chance to play soccer again with a great group of guys and continue my education at an excellent institution. After one year at Mac I have a better understanding of myself and my surroundings. I’ve learned so much more than any textbook could teach me. I think that is what makes Macalester great; the professors truly want to help you to develop as a person. I love the small class sizes here and the academics are challenging enough to push you but not to drive you crazy. Overall I love being a part of the Men’s soccer team at Mac. We’re like a family and some of my best friends are guys that I’ve met here. The combination of a first-rate education and the chance to play soccer at a highly competitive level is the most you can wish for.

How Macalester Soccer has shaped me as an individual:
Being a student-athlete at Macalester has challenged me to work harder than I ever have in my life, but in a capacity that has helped me grow and learn more about myself every year. I know what I'm capable of because I've been pushed to do my best on the soccer field and in the classroom.
