Macalester vs. St. Olaf box score

St. Olaf took three singles matches in three very close sets and extinguished any Macalester MIAC post-season hopes by blanking the Scots 9-0 Friday at the University of Minnesota Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis. Mac's home match was moved indoors due to rain in the forecast.

The Scots are now 10-10 on the season and 3-5 in the MIAC. St. Olaf. The Oles are 7-5 and with a 5-3 conference mark, have clinched a spot in the six-team post-season conference tournament.

Macalester played better than the final score would indicate. Frosh Ali Bandeali (Karachi, Pakistan / Karachi Grammar School) and Chris Fowler (Toronto, Ont. / Royal St. George's) dropped a narrow 8-6 match at No. 2 doubles. Three-set singles defeats were suffered by Charlie Edelman (Sr., Tucson, Ariz. / University) at No. 1, Fowler at No. 3 and Titus Levy (Jr., New York, N.Y. / Fieldston School) at No. 6.
