Macalester sent 15 batters up to the plate in the second inning of the first game, scoring 11 runs in the frame, and went on to take a doubleheader over Minnesota-Morris 18-1 and 8-1 at the Metrodome. The Scots are now 5-1 on the season and off to their best start since 2002.

Through six games, the Scots are batting .347 and own a 2.41 ERA. The team's field percentage is a solid .978. Opponents are batting .238 and have struck out 39 times in 41 innings.  The quick-striking Scots have out-scored their opponents 29-3 in the first two innings.

Mitch Glasser (Fy., Chicago, Ill. / The Latin School) went 4-for-5 with four runs and four RBI in the first game and added two more hits in the nightcap to boost his average on the young season to .478.

In addition to getting six hits from Glasser, the Scots also received three hits on the day from Nathan Ruben (Fy., Venice, Fla.), Graham Brown (Fy., Annandale, Minn.), Nate Wilson Traisman (Jr., Eugene, Ore. / South Eugene) and Devin English (Jr., Annapolis, Minn. / DeMatha).

James Murrey (Jr., Western Springs, Ill. / Lyon Township) pitched the first five innings to collect the win in game one and now has 16 strikeouts in 10 innings pitched this year and a 1.80 ERA. Eric Robinson (Jr., San Francisco, Calif. / The Urban School) improved to 2-0 on the season by pitching the first five innings of the nightcap. His ERA is now down to 2.00.

Macalester stole seven bases in seven tries in game two.

The Scots are now off until playing 10 games over Spring Break in the Phoenix area March 13-20.  Macalester will play doubleheaders with Wheaton (Ill.), Marian (Wis.) and Concordia (Wis.) and single games with Rockford (Ill.), Johns Hopkins (Md.), Western New England (Mass.) and Springfield (Mass.).  The Scots open MIAC play March 27 with a Metrodome twinbill with St. John's.
