ST. PAUL, Minn. – Macalester College seniors Tristan Jones (Fairfield, Conn./Greens Farms Academy), Jamie Loizeaux (Albany, Calif./Albany) and Josh Planko (Northville, Mich./Northville), and juniors Jack Nussbaum (Brunswick, Maine/Thornton Academy) and Holden Peacock (Houston, Texas/Kinkaid School) were selected to the Division III Academic All-District team for baseball, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced today. Jones, Planko and Peacock are repeat honorees.

The CSC Academic All-America program honors student-athletes for excellence in both academics and athletics. Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior or senior, have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher and play in 90 percent or start 66 percent of the team's games to be considered for Academic All-District and All-American accolades. Pitchers must have appeared in 17 games or pitched 25 innings.

Jones played across the Scots' infield through his career, settling in at second base this season. He tied for second on the team with 12 doubles while registering 20 runs, 37 hits and 22 runs batted in, all career highs. During the postseason, Jones stepped up, batting .346 with nine hits, two runs and three RBIs over seven games to help Macalester win the MIAC Playoffs and advance to the NCAA Tournament. An environmental studies major, he is a two-time member of the Academic All-MIAC team.

Loizeaux was a workhorse for the Scots' bullpen, setting a school record for appearances with 30 while breaking the MIAC mark with 15 appearances in conference games. An All-MIAC honorable mention choice this season, he was 3-1 with an earned run average of 3.48 and five saves. Loizeaux, who also made the Academic All-MIAC team the past two years, majored in political science.

The Scots' starter at first base, Planko had a solid season at the plate and in the field. He batted .318 with 47 hits, 27 runs and 23 RBIs while committing just two errors in 295 chances for a .993 fielding percentage. Planko also delivered in the postseason, registering nine hits, three runs and four RBIs while driving in a pair of runs in an 11-6 win over Saint John's in the MIAC Playoff final. A computer science major, he has earned Academic All-MIAC status the past two years.

Nussbaum also received All-MIAC honorable mention after leading Macalester with 55 strikeouts in 41 1/3 innings. In 13 appearances and five starts, he was 4-2 with an ERA of 4.35. In the first game of the MIAC Playoffs, Nussbaum held Saint John's to one run on six hits over 7 2/3 innings while striking out nine in a 5-4 win. An Academic All-MIAC honoree in 2025, he is majoring in data science.

Peacock had an outstanding season as Macalester's leadoff batter and shortstop, batting .331 with 57 hits, 52 runs, eight doubles, a triple and 24 RBIs. He also led the MIAC with 25 stolen bases, which ties the program record, and also set the school record for walks with 32. A solid defensive player as well, Peacock registered a school-record 136 assists this season. A statistics major at Macalester, he made the Academic All-MIAC team last year.

Macalester, coached by Matt Parrington, went 30-17 in 2026, winning the MIAC Playoff title and advancing to the NCAA Tournament, where the Scots earned their first NCAA postseason victory in the program's history. The 2026 squad also is the first team to win 30 games in a season while setting multiple single-season program records, including runs, hits, RBIs, stolen bases, innings pitched and pitching strikeouts.
