Macalester vs. Gustavus box score

Macalester took on one of the nation's top teams, losing 9-0 to Gustavus in St. Peter as the Gusties extend their winning streak to 13 matches.

The Gusties, going for their 20th straight MIAC crown, are now 13-1 overall and 5-0 in conference play. The Scots fall to 2-3 on the season and 1-2 in the MIAC.

Gustavus had to work hard to win three close singles matches.  Mac's Paul Mairet (Fy., Rochester, Minn. / Century) lost 6-4, 7-6 at No. 3 singles, Justin Margolies (Fy., Madison, Wis. / West) lost 6-3, 7-5 at No. 4, and Michael Coleman (Fy., Westlake Village, Calif. / Agoura) fell 7-6, 7-5 at No. 2.

The Scots are off until heading to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, for five matches over Spring Break March 16-21. They will go up against Westminster (Pa.), Allegheny (Pa.), Grove City (Pa.), St. Michael's (Vt.) and Spring Arbor (Mich.).
