ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's cross country team remained fifth in the North Region in this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association rankings, which were released today.

None of the teams in the region competed last week, leaving the rankings the same from a week ago. This Saturday, the Scots will run in the Navy Championship Division at Carleton's Pre-Nationals Meet, held on the same course that will host the NCAA Division III Championships this fall. All 35 teams racing in the Navy Championship Division are ranked in the top 10 of their respective regions, including six No. 1 teams.

UW-La Crosse is ranked first in the North Region ahead of Carleton, St. Olaf, UW-Eau Claire and Macalester. UW-Stevens Point is sixth, followed by UW-Oshkosh, UW-River Falls, St. Scholastica and Ripon. All 10 teams ranked in the North Region will run at Carleton on Saturday.

The Pre-Nationals Meet, held at Carleton in Northfield, Minn., begins at 10:00 a.m., with the women's Navy Championship Division race starting at 11:00 a.m.
