COLD SPRING, Minn. – Senior Ingrid Norquist (Minneapolis, Minn./Anoka) won the Toni St. Pierre Invitational, as the Macalester College women's cross country team placed second out of eight teams in the team standings Friday night at River Oaks Golf Club. The event was hosted by the College of Saint Benedict.

Norquist earned her second win in as many races this fall, following a first-place finish at the Ole Opener on Sept. 4. She covered the 6-kilometer course in 21:58.7 to win by nearly 19 seconds in the 116-runner race. Junior Kate Fox (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) took fifth with a time of 24:45.2. Rounding out the top five for the Scots was senior Samantha Ellis (Intervale, N.H./Gould Academy) in 12th (23:09.9), sophomore Aubrey Jensen (Floresville, Texas) in 15th (23:25.7) and first year Lucia Williams (Corvallis, Ore./Corvallis) in 16th (23:28.7). Junior Kyra Morris (Pacific Palisades, Calif./Palisades Charter) made it six Macalester runners in the top 20 with a 19th-place finish.

The Scots totaled 49 points, 23 behind leader Carleton and 44 ahead of third-place St. Scholastica.

Macalester will compete at the Pre-Nationals Meet at Carleton College on Oct. 3 in Northfield, Minn.
