ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's golf team received votes in this week's Division III WGCA Coaches Poll, the Women's Golf Coaches Association announced today. The Scots received 29 points to rank three spots outside of the top 25.

Macalester has posted three top-3 finishes in their first three events this fall, including a victory at the Saint Benedict Invitational on Sept. 5-6. First year Marley Zhang (Hebei, China/Shanhai Hongqiao International School) earned medalist honors after carding a +2 146 in the two-round event. The Scots placed second at the D3 Classic on Sept. 12-13, with first year Eunice Lee (San Diego, Calif./Torrey Pines) tying for eighth to lead Macalester. Last weekend, the Scots finished third at the St. Catherine Fall Invite. This time the team was led by sophomore Yangyang Gu (Nantong, Jiansu, China/Shanghai Experimental School), who tied for fifth.

Carleton, the defending MIAC champions, are ranked 24th. St. Catherine, which finished four strokes ahead of Macalester last weekend, also received votes with six points.

Macalester returns to action this weekend at the Carleton Invite on Sept. 26-27 at Oneka Ridge Golf Course and Faribault Golf Club.
