ST. PAUL, Minn. – Macalester College sophomore goalkeeper Justin Ratner (Dallas, Texas/Highland Park) was chosen the MIAC Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 13, the league announced today. Ratner posted the shutout in the Scots' 0-0 tie at UW-Whitewater.

Ratner registered eight saves against the Warhawks, including four in the first 15 minutes of the game, to record his first career clean sheet. The performance came against a UW-Whitewater team that had scored nine goals in its first three games.

So far this season, Ratner has allowed one goal in 270 minutes for a 0.33 goals against average. He has faced 15 shots and posted a save percentage of .933. He currently ranks second in the MIAC in both goals against average and save percentage.

Macalester, ranked 13th in Division III, faces No. 22 UW-Eau Claire on Wednesday, Sept. 16 in a rematch of last year's NCAA Tournament game won by the Scots at home. This time the game will be played in Eau Claire, Wis., starting at 7:00 p.m.
