Bailey Lengfelder (Renton, Wash./Hazen) and sophomore
Ava Austria (Portland, Ore./Catlin Gabel) were named to the At-Large Division III Academic All-District team, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced today.
The CSC Academic All-America and All-District program honors student-athletes for excellence in both academics and athletics. This is the third Academic All-District honor for Lengfelder, who completed her outstanding career at Macalester as one of the program's most decorated golfers. This year she was named All-Region for the third time and became the first Scot and 27th women's golfer all-time to make the All-MIAC team four times. Lengfelder finished second at the MIAC Championships in October, her best finish and her fourth top-six finish at the conference tournament. Also a three-time WGCA All-American Scholar and a two-time member of the Academic All-MIAC team, Lengfelder majored in economics and women, gender & sexuality studies.
Austria tied for fourth at the MIAC Championships, earning All-MIAC honors for the second straight season. She posted a sixth-place finish at the CSB Invite, and finished the year with a stroke average of 78.3, which ranks second on the team. Also named a WGCA All-American Scholar last year, Austria is majoring in chemistry at Macalester.
