NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Macalester College women's track & field team competed at St. Olaf's Ole Open in its final meet before next week's MIAC Championships. The Scots were especially strong in the field events.
Junior
Jessica Lin (Bedford, Mass./Bedford) won the hammer throw with a season-best toss of 48.42 meters (158-10), more than two feet further than her mark yesterday at Hamline. Senior
Harmony-Keli Tomety (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook East) finished second in the long jump with a leap of 5.43 meters (17-9.75). Senior
Brooke Boroughs (Monroe, Wash./Monroe) also took second in the javelin with a mark of 31.79 meters (104-3).
In the high jump, first year
Alina Siodlarz (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) took fourth and sophomore
Juliet Reichardt (Tiburon, Calif./Marin Academy) placed sixth, with both jumpers clearing 1.37 meters (4-6). Junior
Seneca Wilson (Durango, Colo./Durango) posted a season best in the pole vault, finishing sixth after clearing 3.05 meters (10-0). Siodlarz also placed seventh in the javelin with a throw of 26.64 meters (87-5).
On the track, the 4x100-meter relay team of sophomore
Claire Beckley (Carlisle, Mass./Concord Carlisle),
Amanda Crewey (New York City, N.Y./LaGuardia), Wilson and
Roen Boyd (Minneapolis, Minn./South) finished third in 50.89. Beckley also took fifth in the 200 meters with a time of 26.45, her best this season.
The MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships take place May 8-9 at St. Olaf.
