MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Four members of the Macalester College men's track & field team participated in the Gary Wilson Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota Wednesday. Sophomore
Ataa Mensah (St. Paul, Minn./Roseville) registered a personal best in the triple jump to highlight the meet for the Scots.
Competing against Division I and II athletes, Mensah leaped 14.18 meters (46-6.25) to finish fourth overall and first among Division III competitors. The mark ranks fourth all-time at Macalester and is 44th on the Division III performance list.
On the track, sophomore
John Irhke (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) finished seventh in the 800 meters behind Division I and II athletes with a time of 1:56.03. Also in the 800, senior
Thomas Malecha (Faribault, Minn.) turned in a time of 2:07.85. Senior
Hamza Mahamud (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) ran the 110-meter high hurdles in 16.18.
Macalester hosts the Rider/Bolstorff Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 24-25 at Macalester Stadium.
