Women’s Track & Field: Rogahn-Press Breaks 400 Record at Univ. of Nebraska Invite

| By:
LINCOLN, Neb. - Macalester College sophomore Ariella Rogahn-Press (Albuquerque, N.M./Bosque School) broke the school record in the 400 meters at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational on Friday at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The time also is tied for the fastest time in Division III so far this season.

Competing mostly against Division I and II athletes, Rogahn-Press placed second with a time of 54.60, behind only Sara Reifenrath of the University of South Dakota, who finished in 53.37 running unattached. Rogahn-Press breaks her own school record of 55.97, which was set in the prelims of last year's NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships. An All-American in the 400 both indoors and outdoors last year, she took sixth at the national indoor meet and was fourth at the outdoor championships.

Rogahn-Press was the only Macalester student-athlete competing at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational, with the rest of the team participating in the Gopher Classic at the University of Minnesota on Feb. 7.
