ST. PAUL, Minn. - Sophomore
Ariella Rogahn-Press (Albuquerque, N.M./Bosque School) was chosen the MIAC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 1, the conference announced today. Rogahn-Press won the 200 meters at the St. Olaf Invitational on Jan. 31 and helped the 4x200-meter relay team take third.
Rogahn-Press, who was an All-American in the 400 both indoors and outdoors last year, won the 200 with a time of 25.15. The converted time currently ranks 11th in Division III. In the 4x200 relay, she anchored the foursome that included first year
Eva Abreu (Havertown, Pa./Haverford), and sophomores
Claire Beckley (Carlisle, Mass./Concord Carlisle) and
Emma Cunningham (Knoxville, Tenn./Farragut) to a third-place finish in 1:47.97, which ranks eighth on Macalester's all-time list.
This is the seventh MIAC Athlete of the Week award for Rogahn-Press, who earned the award three times during the indoor season and twice during the outdoor season last year. She also was the MIAC Athlete of the Week for the first week of the season on Dec. 5. The MIAC Rookie of the Year both indoors and outdoors, she was sixth at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships and fourth at outdoor nationals in the 400 meters to garner All-American honors.
Macalester competes at the Gopher Classic on Feb. 7 at the University of Minnesota.
