ST. PAUL, Minn. – Macalester College juniors
Emily Bruce (Orleans, Ontario/Asbury College) and
Bailey Lengfelder (Renton, Wash./Hazen) earned a spot on the At-Large Division III Academic All-District team, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced today. Both Bruce and Lengfelder made the Academic All-District team last year.
The CSC Academic All-America and All-District program honors student-athletes for excellence in both academics and athletics. Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior or senior, have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher and have competed in 90 percent of the team's total varsity events that were team scoring events or competed in the conference championships to be considered for Academic All-District and All-American accolades.
Bruce had a solid fall season with four top-five finishes. She ranked second on the team with a stroke average of 80.0, almost four strokes lower than her stroke average of 83.7 in 2023-24. An environmental studies major, Bruce was named a WGCA All-American Scholar after the past two seasons and earned a spot on the Academic All-MIAC team as a sophomore.
Lengfelder is a three-time All-MIAC honoree and two-time All-Region selection who has been the Scots' top golfer the past three years. At the MIAC Championships this past fall, she posted her third straight top-six finish to earn her third All-MIAC award. Also a two-time WGCA All-American Scholar and an Academic All-MIAC selection last year, Lengfelder is majoring in economics and women, gender & sexuality studies.
