NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Macalester College sophomore
Tessa Myatt (Chicago, Ill./Northside College Prep) completed her first collegiate heptathlon and finished in fourth place at the MIAC Multi Championships, held Thursday and Friday at Carleton College. Myatt's score of 3955 ranks fifth all-time at Macalester.
On Thursday Myatt recorded three personal bests in the four events, starting with a 16.10 in the 110-meter high hurdles. She also cleared 1.41 meters (4-7.5) in the high jump and ran a time of 28.21 in the 200 meters, both personal bests. On Friday Myatt closed the competition with a PR in the 800 meters of 2:35.85. The fourth-place finish earns Myatt MIAC honorable mention. It is an improvement over her fifth-place finish in the pentathlon at the MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships this past winter.
The MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships will continue on May 9-10 at Macalester Stadium.
